Junior Open Grand Prix
For girls and boys aged 10 – 16 years
The next stage for younger drivers who want more fun from their karting. Race against other drivers for chance to be Mr Karting's top junior driver of the year in our 12 race championship.
The series runs throughout the year and the meetings are held on the first Sunday of every month in the morning. Signing on starts at 9.00am with the meeting scheduled to start at 9.30am.
We run the event to our popular Super Prix format.
• Every driver has 5 practice laps
• Every driver then has 5 races of 8 laps each
• Everyone then enters 12 lap semi-finals
• The overall top six drivers compete in a 20 lap Grand Final
• Trophy presentation to the top three drivers
• End of year presentation to the overall top three drivers in the series and the top three Cadet drivers.
The Junior Open Grand Prix series for 2008 will now have a new class added to allow our cadet drivers to participate in their own championship that will be run in conjunction with the main championship.
At every round we will present trophies to the overall top three drivers, the 'Driver of the Day' award to both sets of drivers and if there is six or more cadet drivers, trophies for the top three drivers in the finall standings.
The championship will run as last year with the lowest three rounds dropped in the overall championship, and one in each of the two six month sections for the TKM test day for the larger kart drivers.
Price: £25.00 per person
Prizes:
We will be awarding two prize test days in a 100cc TKM Race Kart capable of going over 70mph on a local outdoor track! Prizes will be given to the top points scoring driver in the first and second half of the championship. (Both worth over £250)
